Why I'm Taking AICE Media

I'm taking AICE Media Studies because I had a couple of friend's in last year's class and they said that they loved it. The only two AICE classes I had to choose from were Travel and Media, so I decided to go with Media. I hope I learn more about the media because I feel like I'm very uneducated on it, and I also hope to pass the exam so I can receive my AICE diploma.

Filming One

My group began the filming process last week. We were trying to decide on which airport we should film at, considering this will be the location of about a third of our opening. We visited the Marco Island Airport and decided against it. We decided filming at the Naples airport would be a better idea. My group also began looking at locations of our hiding scenes which will add suspense. We talked about filming these at school, but also decided against this idea. We all agreed that filming these hiding scenes at the bank would be the best idea.

Here is the link to my video:  click here Contrast: My contrast shot shows two very different aspects of my life: school and sports. I took a video of my chemistry textbook and then edited in a clip of my training log for cross country and track to show contrast. Parallelism: My parallelism edit was to show two different points in time: a race that I ran, and then my third year varsity award that I received after that season. Symbolism: My symbolism edit was of me drinking water and then of me washing my hands in the sink. The symbol was water. I got my inspiration for this edit from the video we were supposed to watch. There was a scene of fire and then the sun rising on the horizon. Simultaneity: My simultaneity edit was of my brother playing videos downstairs, and me studying upstairs. Week 3 & 4: Commenting on my Peer's Shots

Classmate #1: Chiara Junkroski The first shot I commented on of Chiara's was her dolly shot. It was excellent considering we were unable to use a stabilizer. The setting was very pretty and it gave me the feeling that I was moving closer to the subjects. The second shot I commented on was the extreme close up. Chiara did a great job of finding the right lighting for this shot to bring out the details in Kelly's eye. The shot could have made a movie dramatic. The high angle shot was great as well. It gave the audience a feeling of power because we were "above" the action. The last shot I commented on of Chiara's was her extreme long shot. I especially like this shot because it was taken at the Grand Canyon, the perfect setting for an extreme long shot. I felt like I really got to know the setting.
