Opening Genre Inspiration

My group members and I have chosen the genre of action and adventure for our film opening project. We chose this genre because we thought we could have a lot of fun with it and it would also be a lot easier to create a quality action film opening than, for example, a horror film opening. I also really enjoy the thrill of action movies. They are typically fast-paced and always keep me on my toes.
One of my favorite Netflix movies, What Happened to Monday, is an action and adventure movie that I'm sure will give me some inspiration when the time comes to create my own film opening. The opening of What Happened to Monday incorporates many aspects of what typically draw me into the storyline of a movie. The movie opens with several scenes of crowded areas like the beach and city streets. These areas are so crowded that the people there can hardly even move. The movie cuts between these visuals while a voice plays in the background, describing the situation. In this movie, the world's population has doubled and resources are running out. Then, the audio of different people such as news station anchors and even President Obama play in the background. Each person addressing the problem of the earth's exponentially increasing population. One woman describes how GMOs have created a massive spike in the amount of multiple births. The solution began to feed to problem. Eventually, the villain of the movie is introduced, an evil scientist who created the "Child Allocation Act." This film opening drew me in due to the fast-paced music and rapidly changing scenes and audios. They gave a sense of doom and that there is a problem that needs to be faced. I really enjoyed this film opening and I think it's a good example for the action and adventure genre.
I also really enjoyed the opening of Avengers Infinity War, another very popular action movie. The movie opens with a scene of a ship. The movie then cuts to a scene of destruction while the audience listens to a man speak of salvation while stepping over dead bodies. He refers to the bodies as "Children of Thanos," who will become known as the villain in Infinity War. Then, Thanos appears, all while slow, menacing music plays in the background, alerting the audience that Thanos is evil, and a force to be feared. Thanos holds up his fist where one of the infinity stones shines, and he says, "I am." Infinity War represents a typical action movie opening because it opens with a scene of destruction and a powerful villain who must be defeated. I feel like I see this a lot in action movies. It introduces the problem immediately.
Overall, I am a huge fan of action and adventure movies, so I am very excited that I get to create my own film opening of this genre. What Happened to Monday and Infinity War are two of the movies that inspired me to pick this popular, exciting genre.
